Terms & Conditions

How asking for a seat and paying works, how courses run, who owns the materials and your code, and the limits of what we promise.

last updated 14 October 2026

01Who you're dealing with

These terms cover your use of codelirium.net and any course you join. The other party is CODELIRIUM LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 17519705 and its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Codelirium” mean that company, and “you” means the person taking the course.

Our filings are public at Companies House under company number 17519705.

By asking for a seat, paying an invoice or joining a live session, you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, please don’t enrol.

02Who can enrol

  • You must be 18 or over to take a course.
  • The details you give us must be accurate. We send session links and arrange the introductory call using your email address and phone number, so a typo can mean you miss both.
  • A seat is for one named person. If your employer pays, the seat is still yours alone and can’t be passed around a team or shared between colleagues.

03Asking for a seat and paying

The form on this site sends us a request. It is not an order, it creates no contract, and it never charges you.

  • We reply within one working day to arrange a call of about thirty minutes.
  • If you and the tutor agree the course fits, we send an invoice in pounds sterling, with VAT added where it applies. We hold your seat for seven days while the invoice is outstanding.
  • The contract is formed when your payment clears. We then confirm the cohort dates, session times and syllabus in writing.
  • Prices on this site may change, but the price we confirm to you in writing is the one you pay for that cohort.

04How courses are delivered

Courses are taught live over video to a fixed timetable of 2 sessions a week, each about 75 minutes, with no more than 12 students in a cohort. All times are in UK time. Sessions are recorded and the recordings are shared with the cohort.

  • If illness or an emergency forces us to move a session, we tell you as early as we can and run it at another time.
  • If too few people enrol for a cohort to run well, we may postpone it. You can then move to the next cohort or have a full refund.
  • We don’t guarantee a particular tutor. If we need to change tutors, the new one will be similarly experienced.
  • You need a reasonably up-to-date computer that can run Node.js and a modern browser, a stable internet connection and a microphone. If a course needs any paid service, we tell you before you pay.

05Behaviour in sessions

People learn best when they can ask half-formed questions without being judged. We expect everyone to be courteous, and we will remove anyone who harasses, threatens or repeatedly disrupts others.

  • Don’t record, screenshot or share a session without our written permission, because other students appear in it.
  • Don’t share your session links or login details.
  • Keep anything you learn about another student’s employer, product or code to yourself.

If we remove you for serious misconduct, your access ends and no refund is due. We only do this as a last resort and will warn you clearly first.

06Who owns what

The slides, exercises, recordings, starter repositories and notes we provide belong to CODELIRIUM LTD. We give you a personal licence, which you can’t transfer, to use them for your own learning, including at work, for as long as we keep them available.

The licence doesn’t let you resell or republish the materials, use them to train an AI model, or use them to run a course that competes with ours.

Your code is yours. We claim no rights in anything you build, during a course or afterwards, and that includes the repository you work in.

07Refunds

Every course has a 21-day refund window, and UK consumers also have a statutory right to cancel. Both are explained in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

08What we can't promise

We teach carefully and honestly, but we can’t promise you a job, a promotion, a pay rise or a fix for a particular problem in your own codebase.

The courses are educational. They are not professional advice about security, accessibility compliance or anything else, and you remain responsible for what you put into production.

As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with a course is limited to the fee you paid for it, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost profit or data. This doesn’t limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that English law doesn’t allow us to limit.

09Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. We’d always prefer to sort a problem out by email first.

10Changes to these terms

We update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of the page shows which version applies. If a change materially affects a course you’ve already enrolled on, we’ll email you about it rather than relying on you to check this page.
